Mr. John, managing shareholder at John & Morgan, P.C., devotes his practice to various Federal Court matters. Mr. John is also involved in several State Court matters. Mr. John devotes a significant amount of his time for patent prosecution matters and intellectual property litigation involving technical and complex technology. He has been involved in litigation, transactional and prosecution matters involving several companies, including Intel Corporation, McAfee, Inc., Insperity, Samsung Electronics, Alcatel-Lucent, Zarlink, Inc., Cyberonics, Inc., Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., and GlobalFoundries, Inc. In addition to patent litigation and patent prosecution matters, Mr. John’s practice includes counseling clients on various intellectual property matters. Mr. John is also involved in State Court matters, such as Family Law and Building Regulation matters.
Prior to receiving his law degree, Mr. John worked as a Design and Development Engineer in the Research and Development Department of Input/Output, Inc., a high-tech seismic data-acquisition instrument manufacturer. He is experienced in hardware, software and firmware design and development. Mr. John has extensive design experience using complex semiconductor devices, including microprocessors, software modules, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), ASIC chips, digital signal processors, A/D & D/A converters, interface devices, and a variety of memory devices. He has also designed and developed Hardware Descriptive Language (HDL) code for data transmission, encoding, and decoding.
Representative Matters
In addition to handling various litigation matters, Mr. John has been involved in drafting and prosecuting United States and foreign patent applications for various companies, including Intel Corporation, GlobalFoundries, Alcatel-Lucent, Hewlett Packard, Air Liquide, Micron Electronics, Zarlink and Cyberonics. Mr. John is also experienced in preparing infringement and validity opinions, analyzing prior art and technical data, and handling various aspects of patent litigation. Mr. John is also involved in State Court matters, such as Family Law and Building Regulation disputes.
